Week 42: Rockwood, TN

September 18, 2023

P-day was way fun. We went fishing with Tubbs and Escobar and Tubbs caught a nice lil' bass.

September 19, 2023

We had a good lesson with this referral Donna. About as good of a lesson that you can have with a person that says one to two word answers. She's a sweet lady though, and has two rat dogs. After that we taught Doris and Roxanne. We went over with a plan, and like always, they took the conversation down a fat rabbit hole and we ended up talking about our missions the whole time. It was good, but Roxanne is a bit of a conspiracy theorist, so she's got some real wild tangents. Later in the day we talked with this absolute gem named Shirley. She's a really old lady that sang to us for an hour while Jeopardy was playing in the background. She laughed, she cried. It was a whole wave of emotions. 

September 20, 2023

Today after district council we went to Buffalo Wild Wings, which was lit. Elder Escobar got a little too hyped up on the old peer pressure thing and ate an entire wing soaked in Brazen sauce haha. He started chugging water but it was too much and he lost it in the bathroom haha. Ay but everyone else had some good food. We visited a couple contacts on the way back to Rockwood. Then we went to Young Men's and that pretty much finished out our day. 

September 21, 2023

We were in Spring City for most of the day. There's this lady named Linda that we went and talked to for a while. We heard her screaming in the house when we knocked. She answered and was like, "I'm fighting demons right now, I don't know if you wanna come in!" No chance we'd miss out on that, c'mon. Yea so the woman yelled at us for a good hour about random rubbish. She showed us a picture she took of an Asian boy at a Chinese restaurant she went to and he was holding up a picture of Mr. Beast's blue tiger. She went on about how this boy is possessed by the devil talking about the beasts in Revelations and some garbage, it was pretty sad. Ye la muger es loco. 

Our meal appointment cancelled on us and we were clear down in Spring City, so we went to the Watts Bar Dam next to a nuclear plant and went fishing. Didn't catch nothing but I swear I saw a three eyed fish. 

September 22, 2023

We had interviews with President in Farragut today.  They went really well, Sister Barlow was there this time, which was sick. 

Then we stopped at one of the world's biggest firework stores on the way, because why wouldn't you?Also, today Elder Buck attached a fishing reel to his blowdart gun and made a lethal weapon. Nothing else too crazy happened. 

September 23, 2023

Talked with our guy Jack today. He works at Zaxby's and loves us, so he said he'd give us free food. We watched some football with him in his mancave with a plethora of beer cans, rusty tools and musty couches. Then we talked to the recent convert Sheri. She's been having some health problems and is really dizzy, but she's super sweet. She asked if we'd teach her quick, so we taught the Plan of Salvation again and she loved it. The first and only time she'd been taught it was like four months ago, so she forgot most of it, but we're gonna make a picture for her to remember it. For dinner we went over to the Sanders', a super cool young couple in our ward. Brother and Sister Sanders are so sick.

Alright well I can't remember what happened today but a few days ago Elder Escobar had to fly back to Utah for a Visa interview or something, and then fly back all in the same day, pretty crazy. His family drove up and took him out to lunch and everything. Pretty wild.
